The Origin Story

Since as long as I can remember, I've loved to create.

Making something practical or beautiful out of simple materials has always seemed like the most remarkable trait of the arts to me, which is why I've enjoyed surrounding myself with hand crafts and tactile arts as far back as I can remember.

My mother, having many hobbies and artistically based jobs when I was young, inspired me to try out different mediums.

Though the classical arts never really interested me as much, I did find them academically interesting from the historical perspective which lead me down the path of Art History... which then lead me to Historic Preservation, an education that at the time of this blog post I recently finished. Woohoo!

It was during my education, both BA and MA that Intuitive Goods truly began. It was a constant companion which kept me busy during the breaks and lulls of academia, long before It had a name.

I took a pottery course at my university, which taught me how to throw ceramics at the wheel and my mother and aunt taught me how to bind books while I was visiting on holiday break. These two skills would later merge into my work, Intuitive Goods.

As I stood before my MA after moving to Germany and learning a new language, I realized how much I missed making practical, beautiful things out of simple materials, and so Intuitive Goods officially started to take shape.

Still, at this moment, Intuitive Goods is a small, side dream come true, which fills my heart with so much joy;

however, I can't wait for the time to come when I can say it is a big, full-time dream come true.

Don't worry, you'll be the first to know!
